Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 5, 2026
MealSnap AI Recipe Maker helps you turn ingredient photos and cooking preferences into recipe ideas. This policy explains what information is processed when you use the app.
Information We Process
- Ingredient photos you choose or capture, so the app can identify visible ingredients and generate recipe ideas.
- Recipe preferences you select, such as cooking time, difficulty, cuisine, diet, and meal type.
- Generated recipes and saved recipes stored locally on your device.
- Subscription status from Apple, used only to unlock MealSnap Pro features.
- Advertising, consent, diagnostics, device, and usage signals that may be processed by Google Mobile Ads when ads are shown.
- Basic server request information, such as IP address and timestamps, used for security, troubleshooting, and rate limiting.
How Information Is Used
Your selected photos and recipe preferences are sent to MealSnap's backend and to Google Gemini so recipes and recipe images can be generated. The Gemini API key is kept on the server and is not included in the iOS app.
Saved recipes stay on your device unless you choose to share them through iOS features. MealSnap does not require an account.
Advertising and Analytics
The free version may show Google Mobile Ads, including rewarded ads. Google may process ad-related identifiers and signals according to its own policies. You can learn more at Google Privacy Policy.
Purchases
MealSnap Pro subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. MealSnap receives subscription entitlement information, but does not receive or store your payment card details.
Retention
MealSnap does not intentionally create user accounts or long-term photo profiles. Server logs may be retained for security and operational needs. Recipes you save are retained locally on your device until you delete the app data.
